A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR

Dear members and friends of St. Peter’s:

What can I give him poor as I am? If I were a shepherd, I would bring him a lamb, if I were a wise man I would do my part, yet what can I give him, give him my heart.

This wonderful Christmas Carol by Christina Rosetti and music by Gustav Holst gets to the very core of the Christmas message. Many people are caught up in the giving and getting of the Christmas season. Christmas is about receiving God’s great gift to us, God’s son. The gift of the Christ child, Jesus of Nazareth, brings hope for a world in despair, light to a world darkened by fear and love for a world filled with distrust and hatred.

May our response to these gifts from God be to give the Christ child our hearts that we may share those gifts of hope, light and love in our lives.

In John’s great gospel we read, “From his fullness we have all received grace upon grace” (John 1:16). A grace that transforms, liberates and renews all who come to Him whose love is unconditional. “And the Word became flesh and lived among us and we have seen his glory… full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)

From all of your Pastoral Team a very Blessed and Joyous Christmas and a New Year filled with Peace.
